One Day to Go

It is one day to go for the mother of all exams (if you didn't know, it's CAT I am talking about), but here are a few questions I definitely am trying not to think about:
  • How is the paper going to be tomorrow?
  • How am I going to attempt it? 
  • What will the paper pattern be like?
  • What if I get through?
  • How will I get through?
  • Can I get through?
  • What if I don't get through?
  • When was the last time I said this was not a serious attempt?
  • When was the last time I said there is always hope?
  • What is my chance of getting lucky, when 269999 others ask for luck on the same day?
  • Do I need luck?
  • What if my friend gets through and I don't?
  • What if I get through and my friend doesn't?
  • What if the paper pattern changes next year to an online test?
  • What if the paper is leaked?
  • What if I forget my hall ticket at home?
  • What if I wake up and realise it is 11:30 already?
  • What if there is a curfew tomorrow?
  • When was the last time I tried to not think so much? 
Luckily, CAT has only five answer options to each question. I rather take that. And the best part is that failing and not passing have two different meanings tomorrow and the choice is only mine, if I come to it. 

For those of you who are giving it, "Carpe Diem" (I loved the word Astrodominie, thanks)!

but yeah, i love CARPE DIEM. though sometimes i wish i'd take my own advice.

Why God Exists?

On my trip to Bangalore, I had gone out on a walk with my maternal grandfather, or Nana, as I lovingly call him. Most of the time he was feeling his way along the road. Feeling because he couldn't see. He developed Glaucoma a few years ago after a stroke and ever since his vision has kept degrading reaching a figure of 25% of normal this year. He was also not able to recognize the sound of approaching vehicles since he couldn't hear their engines rattle. He is deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other. To illustrate, he would not know a truck is approaching him till it is around 10 feet away from him. Despite his health constraints, he has never missed his 5 KM morning walk in the past 23 years that I have known him. I am loving this phase. I haven't had to look hard for a reason to smile. All I need is to rewind and replay a memory, one so powerful that it belittles every other that has elapsed in the past. How long are its effects going to last? I am hoping at least this life time. That is being conservative in my estimate. Nevertheless, my growing dependence on it worries me, but I wish to do nothing about it. It is the dependence that is the source of joy, which is as real as the first ray of sunlight.
